No sew costume goodness!

I'm sure as some of you know, I've been dabbling in sewing. So far, I can hem something, make some clothe wipes, a few crooked bibs, but I'm sill amateur, maybe lower than that, if it's possible. Anyways, I decided a while ago that I wanted to make A's halloween costume. One-because all the affordable costumes I could find were pretty generic and two- because my mom made almost all my Halloween costumes up until 5th or 6th grade and they were always so original. So this Halloween, I decided A will be..... A CUPCAKE!! Can I sew a costume of the caliber? heck no, She'd probably wind up looking like a fabric scrap pile. Then I found this site. It's wonderful. It shows you step by step how to make a no sew Halloween costume that is almost an exact replica of Pottery Barns ( which retails for $60). So, I decided to give it a shot. I had left over pink and brown felt from a project I did months ago, I already had a hot glue gun, so the only supplies I had to pick up were-glitter glitter spray, ribbon, and blanket bunting. On her site she used a ruffled fabric but since we only have a Walmart out here in the boonies, I could only find blanket binding. I used a hot glue gun and made ruffles for the collar though (picture to follow). I only used one layer for frosting since A is only 9 months old and I also added some " cell phone bling"-those little sticky tiny fake diamonds people put on cellphones and I made the dress part the same color as the frosting so it looked a little more even. Those little sticky tiny fake diamonds people put on cellphones. It was pretty simple and the only snags I found were 1. after I made the rufle for the collar and glued it on the inside , I could no longer slip it on A's head and had to cut the back, attach ribbon and make it a tie on( turns out that made the costume more simple). I'm currently working on the " cherry on top" which is turning out to be more work than the rest of the costume. I would highly recommend checking out  http://lemontreecreations.blogspot.com, her crafts are incredible and her instructions are so easy to follow!  and finally; THE COSTUME ...okay it's actually up there ^^^ Because I don't know how to get it right here lol and it's not as glitter as it looks in this picture. I'll post an updated one as soon as I charge the battery for my camera.

teeth

I named this post "teeth" thinking of it as a pun from that cheesy horror movie called "Teeth" but , I realize anyone who hasn't seen it and anyone who has it seen will probably think gross. Onto said tooth,  DD has one. I saw it and thought YES! she'll start to feel better. Why? whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy would I think that? A dream, I suppose. This last week has been AWFUL. She doesn't really sleep at night because her mouth hurts and nothing seems to ease it. While she does eventually go back to sleep, it takes a while. I've got tylenol, teething tablets, frozen wash clothes, ice, and while it does appease her nothing can keep her asleep at night. So I went from thinking  " I can't wait till she has a tooth" to " am I bad mom if I want my DD to be toothless?" Since her tooth has come in she's started to bang her head on things, I found her in the hallway one time just banging her head over and over on the wall. Disconcerting , to say the least. According to my doctor it's normal in a teething child. He seemed confused when I asked him how I can get her to stop. Apparently you're suppose to let them alleviate their tooth pain but causing pain somewhere else, "Major Pain" style. Oh, and she's walking. Well, she's trying to walk. She can get halfway across the living room before she sits down. So I've got a teething, walking baby on my hands. At least she doesn't bite, yet

teeth and pinspiration!

A. has been teething for MONTHS and still no teeth. You can see two coming on the bottom and have been able to see them for a while. So A. has been fussy for a while :( In other news, Halloween is coming up and I'm super excited about making DDs halloween costume. Also, I found this easy tutorial for a fabric basket here . I'm currently working on. Let's just say, I'm getting my 2 bucks worth from my seam ripper. I'll finish this later tonight once the little one is asleep :)

hello, nanny, babysitter, sister, brother, kid-less world who thinks they know better

This post isn't meant to be mean. I would like to think of it as a wake-up call but it more or less came to me in a moment of anger. I noticed that someone who is a babysitter, is constantly complaining about her job-who doesn't though? Then, she complains about the parents of her young wards, AKA the boss'. Then again, who doesn't? But then, amidst her post full of rage she calls out all parents. Talking about how easy it is to teach your children. How parent's shouldn't coddle children, how they shouldn't let them do anything with electronics or technology. in other words, she consistently talks about how " easy" it is to be super awesome, creative parents and to raise a gracious, respectful, never tantrum throwing, independent child.Does she have kids? no, none at all. I never want to be the one to say " you don't know until you have one" but I can't help to feel justified. She talks about how easy it is to control your child in a grocery store when they're throwing a tantrum. " I calmly tell them they need to stop, or walk away and they listen". You should be thankful that those " horrible parents" have taught there children to respect there babysitters and that when they're not there, the babysitter is boss. That's pretty damn good parenting if you ask me. Children are more responsive to someone other then there parents most of the time. They know there parents, they know how far they can get and they know the end result. No matter how much you babysit , you will never know how hard a parent really works. You aren't there at 3 am, when they get up to a screaming child to find them covered in there own poop, their sheets-covered in poop, the crib railings, basically everything said child can get there hands on- covered in poop. Maybe they've been through it once or twice, but they don't deal with some new catastrophe everyday. There job is temporary. They can leave when they want to, drink when they want to, have time for themselves after work. You know what parents do after? Come home to do the "work" you complain about. There is no off time, no vacation whenever you want. Now, I understand, parents chose this life. But you chose the job. Parenting isn't as " easy" as this person constantly claims. My child is almost 9 months old and I can tell you it's the hardest job I've ever had in my life. It's also the most rewarding and my daughter is the greatest job I could ever be blessed to have. I don't consider her work, but it makes me mad to hear people down play parenting when they've never done it. Your child is constantly changing and you have to learn how to adapt as fast as they do. You play doctor daily, you sniff butts in public, google poop colors, have an in depth conversation about your childs poops for the day, basically a majority of the time- you're dealing with poop, you walk outside with two different shoes on , or in pajamas thinking you're fully dressed, you get puked and pooped on. Your hair is always being pulled out, you get bit constantly, You have to fight to put someone elses clothes on 5-10 times a day, you don't eat until your child does. YOU come last. So please, enlighten me on how wonderfully easy it is to be parent in your imagination ?

Felt owls

Recently, I discovered www.pinterest.com. It has opened so many craft doors to me. This may or may not be a good thing because when I look at them I think " hey, I can do that and it will look just as good", that's not reality . I wind up with this popsicle sticky glue mess haha. But, I persevere. I've made cloth wipes, bibs, melted crayon art and most recently, a felt owl. ---> see
She's a little lopsided, the feather are sort of cockeyed but here she is. My pinsperation can be found here. I have a bit to go before I get to that level. But I just love these little things. I cut a hole in the styrofoam, put three little bellsit in there  and then I put the top back on so when DD pushes it, it jingles. We'll see how my next one turns out :)

The bib

I finally finished my first bib. It's nothing great but I did it, it's done and I can say I've made a bib. What do they say in Clueless? It's a Monet, pretty from far away but up close, it's a mess. It really is. If you don't look too hard at it you'd think " hey, nice bib you got there baby!" Then you get closer and see jagged lines and some frayed edges. I'm slowly working on bettering my technique. I blame the terry cloth. See --------> excuse the face, she was enjoying her veggies lol .
it's really simple, if you want to try one yourself. I used fleece for the print and terrycloth for the back. I would not recommend terry cloth. It tore so easily and the needle just ate it up. I traced one of her bibs she had, sewed it inside out first and left a little hole, pulled it right side out and did a top stitch to even it out, Then i sewed on some velcro. It gets the job done.
Next up, I'll discuss my experience with cloth wipes :)

oh no!

I've been away for so long. I came back fully ready to face my abandoned followers and expected to see the little icons under "Following" be slim to none. But no, they've increased! Here you all are being putting faith into me and I just off and leave you. Well no more. I'm really going to try to be better. Things have been a little hectic in the household the past few months. With school and baby firsts, vacations and whatnot. I haven't really had a chance to try out any new toys. I've been working on being more crafty. Making reusable wipes and most recently a bib that looks as if Ava sewed it. But, it's a bib nonetheless. I've fully expanded my couponing and have been doing quiet well. I save us so much money that I want to slap myself for not doing this before! I'm going to try to expand this blog into tips for couponing too, but we'll see how that goes. DD is a full on teething machine now. She's got three or four teeth coming  and it's making her cranky...which is making me cranky. Whenever I try to soothe her gums by rubbing them she rewards with a swift and hard CHOMP followed by a vicious head shake that rivals the Great Whites I've seen on Shark Week. Let's hope biting phases out when she gets the real chompers or my blogging days might be over ( typing with no fingers is relatively difficult, I imagine). DD has also learned the magic of tantrums. She arches her back and throws her behind her while wailing like a banshee and if that doesn't work then she slow sobs and puts her head in between her legs, stopping only to take a sneaking glance to see how well her pitiful-ness is working, such the drama queen. A lot of people think this would make me more stressed but it's pretty funny. Her melodramatic acts of distress usually make me laugh. except for when she headbutted the wooden table at Ruby Tuesdays..that was pretty said. Then she preceded to grab a steak knife once she was being coddled.Curious or  homicidal genius? hmmmm
Anyone else experience the monster boddler ? How did you deal with it ?

Take me to Kawaii (pictures coming)

Like I said in my last post, my cloth diapering experience and expertise are limited  but out of the cloth diapers I've tried, this is my favorite, so far. Apparently it's DDs too because she's viciously attacking the computer keyboard so I'm constantly hitting the backspace and pushing her farther back. She learned how to scoot...well not even scoot, more like drag herself across the floor. I'm happy she can move around now but I never realized how persistent she was. Also, fighting off a 5 month old is a lot harder then it seems. She's leaving battle scars on my forearms ;)
Onto the Kawaii, I received my first one as a gift from friends who have always cloth diapered. I have the O/S Kawaii Snazzy minky pocket with hearts on it. I'll warn you though, If you get one of the minkys you're gonna wanna rub your babys butt all day long. The material is SO soft. This is straight off there website:"The nine layers of fabrics are designed to be highly absorbent yet still remain very breathable.  The outer shell contains two layers of waterproof Minky and one layer of high quality microfleece.  There is an additional six layers of microfiber in the two inserts.
The  Inserts (or soaker pads) are made from 100% unbleached microfiber.  The material has many tiny strands and is environmentally friendly.  It has 40x more absorbent surface than cotton and is less bulky.  They are soft and easy to clean. We include 2 large ultra soft microfiber inserts in each diaper – one for daytime and the second for nighttime or heavy wetter."
DD was in her Kawaii for almost 4 hours without even the slightest leak! The diapers are VERY absorbent and do a great job at  wicking moisture away from the baby. When I changed her, the only way I could tell she had peed was from the heaviness of the insert. The Kawaii O/S pocket has an added front panel for extra leakproof protection," suitable for babies sleeping on their tummy. Cross over mulitple tummy snap buttons, hip snap buttons prevent wing drooping. Wider Back Pocket for easy inserts stuffing."
I give this diaper 5 stars!out of 5 stars ;)
They're so inexpensive too , for being such great diapers. You can order yours at there site here or you can order one from Jack Be Natural, a great cloth diapering site I found with excellent prices and FREE SHIPPING! I just ordered another Kawaii from them. Check them out here. Be sure to check out there Facebook. They're have REALLY great customer service. From what I've seen on there FB page , they answer all posts there consumers and perspective buyers have.
*The diapers come with two inserts, one being a soaker.
*Pictures soming sometime today. Since my computer is the shop, I have to take some more :)

Duca Duca Diapers

Well, my NEW laptop went kaput. Thanks HP. Actually, they were really nice about it. Thank god for warranties, right?

Anyways, onto the diaper . I recently received a new line of cloth diapers from Mother of a Sale. I'm relatively new to cloth diapering but I was very excited to try this brand. It is the Duca Duca O/S pocket diaper.Off the bat, the diaper is very aesthetically pleasing. It was bright red with a tiny cute little duck on the butt with the brand name " Duca Duca". The placement of the snaps were a little off to me. Check out the picture, but it could just be personal preference. Another thing I love about the diaper is the trimness. It fits like a disposable, no dreaded fluffy butt! According to the website the liner is made of cotton and it's very soft. Aside from the prettyness of it,trimness and softness of the liners, my love for Duca ends there. The inside of diaper is made of cotton or some kind of fleece. Not microfleece though. I was kind of wary to keep my DD in one because inside was so thick I was afraid it would make her sweat. Also, the three times I've used it it's leaked. The second time it leaked within 30 minutes. It almost seemed as if it doesn't have inner PUL like most CDs I'm use to. I stripped it today and will try to use it again tomorrow to see if it made a difference. Another thing, the rise seems to be pretty short on this diaper, I'm not sure that this could actually be used all the way through potty training like most O/S are or if you had a chubbier baby , I think it wouldn't fit as well on them. This is just speculation though as it fits my 14-15lbs ,25 inch daughter relatively well. There website doesn't give a ton information on there diapers so I don't have a lot of information directly from Duca Duca. Over all , I wouldn't pay the $21.25 for one of there diapers. I would invest in a Kawaii or BumGenius with that money. Mother of a sale currently has them on sale for $9.95, so if you want to see for yourself that's  a pretty good deal. Check out there website here and check out the Mother of a Sale website here. They also have a great sale on Rockin' Green that I would check out.
* This diaper was given to me free of charge to try and review. I was in no way compensated for this review. All opinions are strictly my own. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Apologies All Around

Once again, I sign on to apologize for my lack of blogging. I wanted to apologize for another thing. Maybe not apologize so much as explain. My blogs are filled with poor grammar and misspellings. Commas missing, letters rearranged. I might put dn't when i meant don't. I should spell check, I really should. There's even a little button up here that can do it for me but most of the time I'm typing faster than I'm thinking. My fingers are moving faster than my brain can and I'm in such a hurry to finish the blog and post before DD wakes up, or because DD is awake and screaming for contact from mommy or my homework timer is ticking and I'm dwindling down to the final minutes to finish it.  I could make up a thousand excuses but there are far more moms who do FAR more than I, who still can finish a grammatically satisfying blog. I'll try to improve this, but I can't promise. Unless it's relating to school or I'm writing someone who has angered me, I tend to be lax on spelling. My parents aren't grammatically inclined either. SEE, another excuse! I'm full of them.
As for the review, I've got one in the works. The Kristi G Everything Tote Diaper Bag will have a full review very soon

Mommy Necklaces. FINALLY

I'm a bad, bad blogger. I know. School has been killing and apparently my milk is drying up (tmi?) Probably due to stress from school. Anyways, onto my  Mommy Necklace!
I've been hearing about these for awhile and have been dying to get one but the price was a little steep for a sahm. Finally they popped up on Baby Half Off. I frantically picked m necklace and clicked the chekout button hoping the server wasn't overloaded. thankfully, I got through and a measley TWO DAYS later my raven dangling donut necklace arrived. FIrst Off, I've been complemented on my necklace and was met with shocked faces when I explained it was a nursing necklace. It looks like it's made of plastic but the material is 100% baby safe. You can even send in some of your necklaces to Mommy Necklaces and they'll test what's in it and what could harm your baby.
I have a very handsy baby. While nursing she tends to pinch and twist the delicate skin on my chest until she's finished eating. Even when being bottle fed! I've heard Her dad scream in agony and come out to him rubbing a red spot on his chest where she's yanked hair out in a feeding fury.Needless to say, I was excited to try this out . As soon as I got my necklace I couldn't wait for her to eat again. The time came and I popped my necklace on and like magic her hand instantly attached itself to the necklace. At one point she even stopped nursing to stare l longingly at the necklace. I even had to use the necklace during her photos to get her to look in the right direction like that>>> I used the mommy necklace to get her to look. When she goes in the exersaucer I even put it around one of the toys because she loves playing with it so much , of course she's ALWAYS supervised. I give this necklace five stars and can't wait to order more! Remember, there not just for nursing or feeding. Check them out on Facebook Here and order some Here

What to say, What to say

It's been a rough few weeks. I feel like DD NEVER sleeps. She's about to be 3 months old and really has only been taking one nap a day. Given, she sleeps through the night but still. At 3 months old , all she wants to do is be held. It's keeping me from getting things done. On top of that, I still have 40lbs to go in baby weight and I'm too darn tired and lazy to try anything. I finally got some motivation while DD was asleep and that leaded to about 5 pushups. Excuse me, GIRL push ups. Boy,oh boy
In other news, I received my Easy Stroll that I won in Mommy coupon Fairie giveaway. I did not expect it to have so many parts to put together. The picture of it deceives you into thinking it'll be easy to put together. Heck, I didn't even know you would have to put it together. tricky, tricky. Hopefully I'll get some pictures up and a review soon. Sorry for the laziness. I'll step it up, swear. Don't forget to check out my facebook HERE
I'm also working on redoing the layout of this blog to make it easier to sort through things :)

PaciPlushies

Sorry it's been so long for a review. I feel like everytime I get on here something goes wrong with DD. I've been updating my facebook with TONS of deals and giveaways so make sure to check it out here
On to the review. Many of you may or may not have heard of paci plushies.  There a plush animal that holds a pacifier making it easier for your little one to keep there binky in without you having to keep putting it back in.They're similar to Wubbanubs with a few differences.  One of the differences is the plush. While Wubbanubs are more pliable and bendable, PaciPlushies are more like actualy stuffed animals. More soft to touch but not as flexible . The wubbanubs feature beads in the arms of there products making them more attractive to the younglins. One thing REALLY great about the Paciplushies are their ability to interchange binkys. WIth the Wubbanubb, You have to havea kid who likes the soothie or it's useless. The Paciplushie,on the other hand, is interchangeable. It can accomodate pretty much any binky. It even has a soothie attachment!  Excuse my DDs nakedness :O
As  you can see she's got a nuk attached to it. The paci taht comes attached to it was WAYYY to big for her.
One of the downsides is that any other binky that I put into that's not the one it came with seems to pop out of it, making it hard for DD to keep in her mouth. I['m not sure If I got a defective one or if they are like this, though.
While DD is still partial to her Wubbanub, these are great for the kid who is over the Soothies but not over the binky. Check them out Here. Make sure to use the code PACI at check out to get 50% off!!

The "original" Wubbanub

Sorry for the delay in updates, it's been a long week with DD and my birthday. Here's a wuick review for you guys :)
I recently reviewed the Mary Meyer Cutsie Caterpillar Wubbanub and explained how DD had a hard time making use of it because it was long but not wide. Well Wubbanub read my review and offered to send me an Original Wubbanub to try out on DD and see if she coped with it better. I've got to say, EXCEPTIONAL customer service. I didn't complain to them at all, they wanted me to give there brand a second chance and wanted DD to try a different Wubbanub , in the hopes that it worked. Well DD LOVES her monkey Wubbanub. She can even put it back in her own mouth!  Check out the death grip she's putting on her wubbs. She even wants it to squeeze when she has her NUK in her mouth. All in All the original Wubbanub exceeded my expectations. To get your own go here
If you want to read my first review of the Mary Meyer Wubbanub go here.
*Disclosure: I received this item free of charge for the purposes of this review. All opinions are my own and this post was neither reviewed nor approved prior to being published

So Very tired

It's been a rough couple of days for DD and me. She hasn't been sleeping well  which means we've been up for 20 hours out of the day for the past three days. So, I haven't had a lot of time to devote to a good blog entry. But, Today we're going to the twice a year consignment sale and it's a GREAT deal. At the last one I got DD about 20 outfits for 17 dollars. It's an NPO so nothing is taxed and everything is half off on the last day, making some clothes only .25 cents. Want to find your own great sales? Check it out at The Bargain Watcher! Once I get back from this sale and get my act together , I have some great new products to tell you all about! Well, not "new" they've been out on the market for a bit, but I finally got around to trying them. First is the Paciplushie and next is the "original" Wubbanub

Sites I love

Here are some frugal finds I came upon, that are wonderful!
Baby Half Off  - they have daily deals on different babies/kids/parents things that are ALWAYS 50% off.Sometimes more
Mama Bargains - Not only do they have daily deals, sometimes they have multiple deals a day. So you have to be quick. I recommend adding them on Facebook  SO you can keep up with all the deals. They have high end baby/ kids/ parents items at 80% off
Bundles and Buzz- While this doesn't have constant deals, they do have a twice a month deal that is amazing!  This company stocks "bundles" twice a month. One cloth bundle and one original bundles. The Cloth bundle is for cloth diapering parents or parents who want to start cloth diapering and are prices at $35. The original bundle is $30.The bundles contain samples, gift certificates and full sized items that, if sold in stores, would cost around $100 or more. Youh ave to be wuick though. They sell out within minutes after stocking

Baby legs!

Whenever I tell my friends I just ordered DD Baby Legs I'm met with a crazy stare followed by " um, WHAT?!" Well, Of course I'm not ordering actual human baby legs off the internet. Baby Legs is a brand of newborn-toddler socks and leg warmers. When I  first heard of them I honestly thought it sounded ridiculous. Why would a baby need leg warmers?? Who even wears leg warmers anymore, Right? Wrong. after a few diaper changes and having to pull tiny pants on and off and on and off and then doing it over again just to check to see if she needed a change, I realized I HAD to have some of these leg warmers. They cover her entire legs and look like pants. The only difference being that I'm not in a constant battle with kicking legs, getting them on and off throughout the day. They come in tons of different styles and are constantly having sales. Right now they have the "Daily Deal" Everyday one of there baby legs will be 50% off. I just bought the Jolly Jill set! You wash them the same as the rest of baby clothes and one size fits most. You can check them out on facebook here and browse/purchase leg warmers or socks here. They're made out of cotton and super soft. They're especially wonderful when the little ones start crawling. Baby Legs will protect their sensitive knee caps from carpet burn and irritation.
I had to add this picture. I just love her " I'm too sexy" face

    A story and some deals

DD was up almost ALL last night. She only slept for...two hours? She's also been having some ,to put it not so elagantly , pooping issues. So I've been having to give her apple juice diluted with water. Well, I gave her a little more than usual last night, because she was struggling, and boy oh boy did it work. So, here I am, bleary eyed, grumpy, and delusional from lack of sleep and I'm just about to lay my head down on the pillow when I hear a monstrous sound coming from DDs bassinet. I thought " that could not possibly have been my sweet, tiny, two month old child". When I saw the satisfied look on her face , I knew it was. Needless to say, she got "relief" and I couldn't find the light remote for the ceiling light and ended up with poop all over my hands. I'm sure that's what everyone wants to hear about , right? Me getting covered in baby poop. hah

    Wubbanubb review

Recently DD had to be taken to the hospital for a possible UTI. Anyone whose had to take there child to the hospital or even to get shots know how horrific and sad it is for the parents and child. They took her for "tests" and I could hear her baby screams all the way down the hall. It took everything in me not to bust open that door and grab her away from them. After the tests were done I felt so bad for her that I went to the gift shop in search of something to comfort my nearly two month old. Hidden amongst the teddy bears, I found Cutsie the Caterpillar! a wubbanubb by Mary Meyer.

The Wubbanub was designed to keep the soothie in the childs mouth.Unfortunately I think Cutsie doesn't have the width to allow my child to keep it in her mouth. The Caterpillar is too skinny for her to grab on to it and be comforted. She gets frustrated trying to grab it and it falls out. I think If I had gotten Red dog or the cat , it would have been much better suited for her.The gift shop only had Cutsie the Caterpillar though and at the moment, I don't have the funds to try out the larger Wubbanubs. Cutsie is an adorable Wubbanub and DD really does love it, it just doesn't live up to the other reviews I've heard. I will add though, that all the great reviews I've heard have been about the larger Wubbanubbs and not my Mary Meyer one. Hopefully I'll be able to get a larger one to try and let you all know how it goes.
You can buy a Wubbanubb here and check out there Facebook page here. They're constantly having giveaways on there facebook, so I recommend check them out and giving them a '"like".
    • Wash by hand , with mild soap, then brush to get the plush feeling back
    • Cost approx. $13.99
    • Distributed around most hospitals and NICUS
*update: The great staff at Wubbanub has been so kind as to send me an original Wubbanub for DD to try out.I'll be sure to review it for you guys ASAP

    Sleep

It's more than just a luxury for parents. DD is about to be two months so she's been sleeping almost through the night lately. The only thing that would wake her up would be losing her binky. Not a problem with the Nuk genius, right? Well, too bad mommy lost. Yes, MOMMY lost it. Not baby, not daddy, not grandparents but mommy and the room has swallowed it whole. I searched for it frantically with no luck. So I was up every two minutes popping her regular binky into her mouth. Even the Wubbanub wouldn't suffice. Any other mommies have problems like this? Any solution for the binky falling out problem?

    The Moby Wrap

I have been anticipating the arrival of my Moby Wrap since before I even ordered it. Well people, The day has arrived! My Moby Wrap was awaiting me outside the front door bright and early this morning. I tore into that amazon box like a kid at Christmas , fully prepared to have DD in it with seconds of opening it. Little did I know, The Moby Wrap is a bit more complicated than that. It starts out looking like an extra long scarf. Once you pull the scarf looking thing out, you realize it "opens" for more fabric . I was utterly confused at first until I saw the little instruction booklet that came with it. At first, it was INCREDIBLY frustrating. I couldn't figure out how to wrap it or how to get DD into it. Luckily that only lasted five minutes and soon DD was snug as a bug wrapped against my chest (see pictures below). DD fell asleep almost as soon as she was wrapped in. Now, anyone who knows me, knows that DD is a VERY picky sleeper. Meaning, she will only sleep in someones arms. She absolutely, vehemently protests her swing, bassinet, crib, bouncer and any other contraption that isn't human arms, to sleep in. We have another baby carrier. One that straps in the back, almost like a front facing backpack. DD HATES it and so do I. I was large chested before I got pregnant so now they;re even bigger and the other carrier has her head butting my sensitive "hug cushions" ( as my sister calls them). The other carrier also limits what I'm able to do. I can't lean over to pick something up an I can barely walk with her in it without it sloshing her around in there. The Moby wrap has solved ALL those problems. So, it was a god send. Not only is The Moby Wrap a miracle worker on my child but boy is it comfortable. It's made out of super soft cotton and can fit ANYONE. With other carriers I had to put a blanket behind her to get her to fit in it properly, my back would ache from improper distribution of her weight and the rough material would rub against her sensitive leg skin. NONE of that is a problem with the Moby. DD fits snugly in it, it's comfortable for both of us, it's sturdy and has several different options for ways of wearing it. visit them at their Facebook or their website.
Warning though, if you're very impatient and don't have a patient significant other or someone else to help you in the beginning, you could get very frustrated. I'm VERY impatient and was cursing up a storm trying to figure it out, at first. Thankfully the hubby is very calm and was able to help me and now It's smooth sailing. I highly recommend this for mommies and daddies!

    •  Priced around $39 .
    • Holds up to 35lbs
    • One size fits all
    • made out of 100% cotton
    • machine washable

    First Review: Nuk Genius

I had another blog , but somehow I got locked out of it. So, I created this new one, which I will dedicate to reviews and daily baby issues. Read my side bar to learn more info about me!

One of my first reviews is going to be the Gerber NUK genius orthodontic pacifier. My Daughter will be two months next week and so far this is the ONLY pacifier she can keep in her mouth without me having to get up constantly to pop it back in. Not only does it stay in , it fits perfectly to her face. I breastfeed and once she finishes , I usually try to give her a pacifier to help her fall asleep.Normally, she spits the pacifier out and fusses until I hold it in her mouth for awhile. Not with the NUK! She takes it immediately. No fussing, crying or flying pacifiers. A Nuk Genius will set you back about $4.99 but are worth every penny. They're said to be a "grow with you" pacifier, so baby can keep this pacifier as the months go by. It helps promote proper oral development and reduces the amount of pressure on the jaw and teeth to keep baby comfortable.

I HIGHLY recommend the NUK genius. Right now, Babies 'R' Us  is having a sale ; buy one , get on half off! jump on it mommies and daddies
